Beautiful set of a ring and a pendant in high quality ebony and silver.
Beautiful set of a ring and a pendant in high quality ebony and silver. The part lighter of the ring is the sapwood of the ebony which has an exceptional hardness. The ring and the pendant are made in a sole wood and there are no gluing for a beter homogeneity and hardness.
The ebony is the result of a disease in the heart of some trees in Africa. Attacked by this disease, the heart of the tree goes rotten and the other parts of the tree become hard and black. The word ebony is derived from the Latin ebenus, coming from the Greek ebenos wich indicates already this wood. As of the pharaonic Egypt, this wood was used to create small precious objects. The ebony was firstly found again in the spicies roads at the entrance of the Indian ocean. The intensive exploitation began around 1640 when the English and French loaded clandestine ships with this precious wood so much searched by cabinet makers in the 18th century. The Dutch will be specialist in this business and will sell the precious wood all around Europe.
The wood has the certification FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) that guarantees a good exploitation of the wood with a responsible management of the world’s forests. The rings are made in solid 925/1000. The silverware part of the jewels is made by Françoise Zeegers : jeweller approved by the Royal Belgian Mint. The jeweller can engrave a date or/and one or 2 names inside the ring. This is free of charge.
The rings are made after your order so that we can choose precisely the size of the rings.
To know the size to order, please measure the internal diameter of one of your ring and note it on a sheet.
You can order intermediary sizes. In case of hesitation, it's better to order one size upper. Please note your size in the comments of the order.
The pendant and the ring are made-to-measure and the delivery delay varies between 15 days and 1 month. To guarantee the quality of te product, this delay can't be shortened. Pierre Création developped a revolutionnary process that avoid the dissociation of the wood and the silver even at extreme temperatures (from -20°C to 40°C) and this for one life ! The process needs time and we can't compress it.
The pendant has the following sizes : 4cm * 1cm * 1cm. The pendant is delivered with a chain in solid silver.
