This cane of exception which has the particularity to associate precious wood and turned leather, is the ultimate work of delicacy and high quality production by Pierre Création. It's the first cane in the world which associates precious woods and leather turned with hands ! An exclusive stick created by the Maison Pierre Création, the reference in canes of exception !

The stick is made in a bole of Gabonese Ebony. The ebony is the result of a disease in the heart of some trees in Africa. Attacked by this disease, the heart of the tree goes rotten and the other parts of the tree become hard and black. The word ebony is derived from the Latin ebenus, coming from the Greek ebenos wich indicates already this wood. As of the pharaonic Egypt, this wood was used to create small precious objects. The ebony was firstly found again in the spicies roads at the entrance of the Indian ocean. The intensive exploitation began around 1640 when the English and French loaded clandestine ships with this precious wood so much searched by cabinet makers in the 18th century. The Dutch will be specialist in this business and will sell the precious wood all around Europe.

The trumpet is in calfskin tuned with hands by Pierre Création. The leather used is of first quality and when it's turned, the leather becomes superb and has an unique texture and an exceptional brightness.

The pommel of the cane is made of two species of wood and of turned calfskin. The wood in the middle of the pommel is a Gabonese Ebony as the bole. At the ends, we can find snakewood, a South American wood with an exceptional density (1,30 g/cm³). It has a red-brownish color with some black marks as some species of snakes. Between the wooden layers, we find leather of first quality which is, when turned, smooth and a very pleasant touch ! The bole of the cane is full and is made in one piece without any gluing.

The wood cane is the ultimate realtisation for each woodturner because you have to do the bole of the stick perfectly without any problem. The cane must be perfectly straight and it's with an out of ordinary talent that a woodturner can do it with a high quality. Pierre Création is the prize winner of the contest La Vitrine de l'Artisan 2006 for one of his outstanding canes. This competition rewards the best craftman in the French part of Belgium (Wallonia and Brussels).

The cane has a height of around 90 cm and the pommel has a diameter between 45 and 52 mm. These dimensions can be modfied according to your choice.
