The history of the potstainiers hutois goes back to the Middle Ages. As of this time, the work of metals was one of the main activities in the mosane valley. The merchants of Huy got on the market of London, the ore of tin coming from Cornouailles and Iles Cassitérides (Scillies).
From the 14th to the 17th century, tin was very fashion, before being dethrone by earthenware and the glassmaking, cheaper materials.

In 1925, a first workshop opens and, in 1949, three men - Sirs Discry, Gramme and Fallais - found “potstainiers hutois”. Francis Lacroix, current owner of the places made art of tin an Art universally recognized for the quality of its completions.
Still today, tins of potstainiers hutois continue to produce in the same tradition.
