Yasmina Laazaoui carried out studies with the academy of the Art schools of Tournai in Textile Creation, weaving and tapestry (of 1997 to 2001). She then obtained a research grant with the foundation of the tapestry of Arts of Fabric and Mural Arts of the French Community of Belgium (Textile Workshop Design) in Tournai (from November 2001 to October 2002).
Yasmina Laazaoui has a workshop-shop of weaving called Mes tissages… located in La Vieille Forge at the Citadel of Namur. It settled there as independent since July 1, 2006. Yasmina Laazaoui makes her creations entirely with the hand using her weaving looms manual. Yasmina Laazaoui created stoles, scarves, belts, bags, plaids, cushions, table runners, mural fabrics and furnishing, luminaries.
She uses many matters such as silk, viscose, the polyester yarn, wire made iridescent,…, as well as other matters as the wool, the mohair, the wire to be hooked or the lace, for example.
She likes to use various matters to have various types of fabrics with touched. Thus, Yasmina Laazaoui appreciates to work wire like silk, the iridescent viscose and wire because they bring a certain nobility and preciosity from the brightness which they release.
Her creations are single models! The customers can, according to her desires, choose the colors, dimensions and/or the reasons, for weavings on order.
Yasmina Laazaoui also organizes introductory courses to weaving for children and adults.
