S-en-Ciel exists since 1985. The brand results as the meeting of two autodidacts of the leather working, Ralph Baggaley, born in Chicago on June 16, 1947 and Martine Hupin, born in Louvain (Belgium) on December 13 1951. Both prepared themselves for ten years in the field. The founders of S-en-Ciel have so more than 30 years of experience in leather working and have always tend to the perfection. They now develop products of outstanding quality in their workshop in Bruxelles.
In an old brewery in Uccle, a commune in Bruxelles, they installed an efficient workshop, equipped with the very last tools but using the gestures of the former leather dealers. Ralph Baggaley indicates its workshop as artisanal because the 7 people who work in leather of first quality are able to manufacture products from A to Z ! The craftsmen of S-en-Ciel use powerfull machines and their tested fingers to manufacture the products. The keyword is quality and not quantity. It means that the craftsmen don't hesitate to work several hours to perfectly finsh the bag which will accompany his/her owner.
S-en-Ciel works with the upper part of the leather. This leather comes from Europe. The tanning process is conform to the most specialized environmental requirements. The rest of the thickness is of lower quality and they don't use it.
The bags, wallets, belt, ... from S-en-Ciel were developped carefully and the experience of its two founders tend them to always propose more quality. They innovate permanently and their bags are superb and and of a seldom equalized completion.
