| The history of the potstainiers hutois goes back to the Middle Ages. As of this time, the work of metals was one of the main activities in the mosane valley. The merchants of Huy got on the market of London, the ore of tin coming from Cornouailles and Iles Cassitérides (Scillies). From the 14th to the 17th century, tin was very fashion, before being dethrone by earthenware and the glassmaking, cheaper materials. At the beginning of the 20th century, tin finds, at the beginning of the hutoise area, a second youth. In 1925, a first workshop opens and, in 1949, three men - Sirs Discry, Gramme and Fallais - found “Potstainiers Hutois”. Francis Lacroix, current owner of the places made art of tin an Art universally recognized for the quality of its completions. Still today, tins of Potstainiers Hutois continue to produce in the same tradition. All is done with the hand, it contributes to always conferring on the manufactured objects, a single character and an irreproachable quality. This work allowed the development of the activities near the companies, the ministries, the administrations… for the business gifts.
